Career
Dr. Mauricio Verbauvede trained as a doctor and plastic surgeon at the National University of Rosario, in Argentina. In Rosario he also taught Semiology at Hospital de Urgencias Dr. Clemente Álvarez and Normal Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Rosario. He completed his training in head and neck surgery at the University of Buenos Aires, with fellowships in aesthetic surgery in Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona, and in rhinoplasty in Paris.
He is now medical director of the Instituto Mauricio Verbauvede in Madrid and also sees patients in Villagarcía de Arosa and Pozuelo de Alarcón. His work focuses on surgery of the face and neck: deep plane facelift, neck and platysma surgery, blepharoplasty, brow lift, lip lift, cheiloplasty to remove biopolymers from the lips, primary rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty and facial bioosteoplasty.
He has used the ultrasonic instrument (Piezotome) in rhinoplasty since 2011 and uses the nasal dorsum recycling technique in the cases where it is indicated.

Founder of Madrid Deep Plane
Dr. Verbauvede is the founder and medical director of Madrid Deep Plane Facelift Masterclass, a deep plane facelift and deep neck course for plastic and facial surgeons.
The November 2026 edition combines two days of live surgery at Hospital Memorial Publio Cordón, in Pozuelo de Alarcón, with one day of anatomical dissection in a cadaver lab at the Medical Skills Center in Boadilla del Monte. The programme covers patient assessment and marking, deep plane dissection, release of the retaining ligaments, management of the SMAS, the danger zones of the facial nerve, the deep neck and the management of complications.
